Local Ringwood university student receives New Colombo Plan scholarship

Michael Sukkar, Federal Member for Deakin, congratulated the 2017 New Colombo Plan Scholarship winner, Daniel de Waard, at an award presentation night hosted by the Foreign Affairs Minister, Julie Bishop.

Daniel, a Ringwood local, studies Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering and Commerce at Monash University.

Michael Sukkar MP, who attended the presentation with Daniel, said “we have such talented young people in Deakin and I am extremely proud that one of our own is the recipient of a scholarship tonight”

“I would like to commend Daniel on winning the award and wish him the very best in his internship in Taiwan,” Mr Sukkar said.

Daniel will be interning with a Taiwanese electronics company.
