200 years between them and going strong

It was double the fun as Michael Sukkar, Federal Member for Deakin, joined residents at Olivet Aged Care in Ringwood today to celebrate not one, but two very special birthdays.

Mr Sukkar visited centenarians, Ruth ‘Lesley’ Ricketson and Ellen ‘Nell’ Burns, to celebrate their milestone birthdays.

“It was truly a remarkable occasion,” Mr Sukkar said.

“Women like Leslie and Nell have enjoyed remarkable lives that epitomise the values which have made Australia the country it is today.

“Both women are a tremendous example to people of all ages. “I’m so glad that I was able to be here with them and their families on this special day.”

Mr Sukkar presented both ladies with a congratulatory certificate from the Queen and the Prime Minister.
