Michael Sukkar, Federal Member for Deakin, visited Forest Hill Zebras Cricket and Football Clubs on the weekend to officially open the new scoreboard at Forest Hill Reserve.
The Clubs received $15,000 from the Federal Government, under the Stronger Community Grants Programme, for the new scoreboard.
Mr Sukkar said it was fantastic watching the match with the scores clearly displayed on the brand new big electronic scoreboard. “It’s great to be able to support our young sportsmen and women through small gestures such as this and help out local sports clubs in Deakin,” Mr Sukkar said.
“I’m pleased to have secured federal funding for the club’s scoreboard as I know they’ve been looking to upgrade it for some time now.”
Wayne Coleman, President of Forest Hill Football Club, said the club was extremely pleased with the new scoreboard and grateful for Michael’s help in securing the grant.
“The scoreboard really enhances the game and allows supporters to better engage,” Mr Coleman said.
