Federal Member for Deakin, Michael Sukkar, today officially opened the new outdoor deck at Heatherdale Tennis Club in Mitcham, which Mr Sukkar was pleased to support with a $25,000 election commitment from Morrison Government.

The opening was attended by Kelly Wright, President of the Heatherdale Tennis Club, other club board members, coaches, players and members of the local sporting community, who all advocated tirelessly for the much needed upgrade.

Mr Sukkar said “The new viewing platform ensures all members and guests are protected from the elements during competition matches and social tennis, as well as during various social activities”.

“This upgrade will improve player and spectator comfort during games and ensure the broader community can benefit from these great sporting clubs”, Ms Wright said.
